MindfulnessBased Transpersonal Counseling & Inner Child Work

Welcome!

I love working with people who feel drawn to explore their inner world, who sense there’s something meaningful waiting to be discovered but aren’t sure where to start. They long to feel more connected to themselves and others, and are looking for gentle guidance to help them get there. They want to understand the heart of what keeps them stuck in old patterns and finally feel the freedom of being their true selves.

So much of our suffering comes from not knowing how to be with our own feelings. Anxiety, depression, overwhelm, stress — these aren’t signs that something is wrong with you. They’re signals. They’re parts of you asking for attention. For many of us, no one ever taught us how to listen inward, so we learned to cope in whatever ways we could — staying busy, distracting ourselves, pushing through, or numbing out.

In our sessions, we take a different approach. We slow things down. We notice what’s happening in real time. We get curious about the parts of you that show up — the inner critic, the inner manager, the part that wants relief at any cost — and we begin to understand what they’re protecting. Often, underneath it all, there’s a younger part of you that is simply needing more love and care.

When we honor and care for our Inner Child, the patterns that have caused suffering often begin to ease. Emotional reactivity, anxiety, depression, addictions, and codependent behaviors can soften, and we become more able to set healthy boundaries, cultivate honest and loving relationships, and express our truth without fear of rejection or abandonment.

About Me

None of us are meant to walk this path alone. Having someone beside you who truly understands your struggles and believes in your capacity to grow can make all the difference. My own recovery journey, along with my education, training, and years of working with adults navigating mental health challenges and addiction, allows me to meet clients with both skill and heartfelt understanding. Whether you are just beginning or well along your path, I am here to support you in moving toward a more whole and integrated life.

My Approach

My counseling approach is primarily influenced by gestalt, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based therapy, as well as inner child work and the expressive arts. I believe that living with greater authenticity and wholeness starts with noticing and honoring all parts of ourselves. When we do that — and take loving actions that support our body, heart, and mind — life begins to feel a little easier. We become less reactive, our relationships grow healthier, and we can meet challenges with more clarity and resilience.

Client Testimonials

  • “Tobias is an excellent therapist. He has a very calm and focused presence. He has helped me navigate some very difficult and complex situations in my life and I am grateful to him for that. I would highly recommend him, especially for working through difficulties from the past and finding actionable solutions in the present.”

  • "I came to Tobias with a long history of therapeutic exposure and techniques, but it was not until I began working with Tobias that I began to learn how to reconnect with my heart and make space for all the parts of myself."

  • "I have worked with Tobias for a little over a year now, and the results speak for themselves. Not only has Tobias provided me with tools and skills for overcoming challenges in my mental health, but he is excellent at accelerating my own self-understanding through inner child work. He is an excellent therapist, and is especially kind, empathetic, and non-judgmental. It is very clear that he has a true desire to help me be my best self."

  • "I came to Tobias tightly wound up with lifelong anxiety. His consistently kind and empathetic nature always makes our sessions a safe place for me. I've gained a new perspective on so many things, and am learning mindfulness and other techniques to navigate my inner states and meet the needs that no one else can do for me. After working with a number of therapists over the years with limited success, I'm grateful to have found Tobias and I can't recommend him highly enough."
